Effective January 1st 2018, MVP Heath Care (a mid-Husdon New York insurance company) today announced that they will be withdrawing their HQNet (Health Quest Network) based individual market plans in New York. This includes all on-exchange (via the NYSOH Marketplace) and off-exchange HQNet-based individual insurance policies. Existing MVP HQNet customers were sent notices in the mail regarding this change on July 31st 2017, and should be arriving soon.
Current MVP individual market HQNet customers (affecting only those living in Dutchess, Putnam, and Ulster counties) will need to replace their existing HQNet policies with other MVP individual policies, or with alternative carrier markets this open enrollment season, which begins on 11/1/17. The final day to enroll in a new health insurance policy for 1/1/18 effective coverage is 12/15/17.
