Reports are coming in today that Allstate and State Farm have had over 1000 claims filed today (so far) from the massive hail storm that hit west Nassau county Long Island yesterday. Golf ball and baseball-sized hail has been confirmed across many sections of western Long Island.

Remember, hail damage is covered under the comprehensive liability portion of your auto insurance policy (if you have it and less your deductible). To file a claim, contact your long island insurance broker, independent insurance agency, or claims department of your carrier. Act quickly as rental car facilities across Long Island are jam packed today as you can imagine.
Don’t be surprised if you see your renewal rates go up by the way, as many carriers suffered big losses yesterday.
